【摘要】:Thetestresultsrepresentafterflameplusafterglowtime,inseconds,foramaterialundertheconditionsofthetest.Thetestresultsforplaquesalsoindicatewhetherornotthespecifiedflamewillburnthroughamaterial.Theeffectofmaterialthickness,colors,additives,deterioration,andpossiblelossofvolatilecomponentsismeasurable.Theburningcharacteristicsvarywiththickness.Comparetestdatawithdataformaterialsofsimilarthicknessonly.Theresultsserveasareferenceforcomparingtherelativeperformanceofmaterialsandcanbeanaidinmaterialselection.Inthistestmethod,thespecimensaresubjectedtospecificlaboratorytestconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheend-useconditionsarechanged,itwillnotalwaysbepossiblebyorfromthistestmethodtopredictchangesinthefire-test-responsecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarevalidonlyforthefire-test-exposureconditionsdescribedinthistestmethod.1.1Thisfire-test-responsetestmethodcoversasmall-scalelaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtherelativeburningcharacteristicsandtheresistancetoburn-throughofplasticsusingsmallbarandplaquespecimensexposedtoa125-mm(500-Wnominal)flame.Note18212;ThistestmethodisequivalenttoIEC60695-11-20.Note28212;Foradditionalinformationoncomparativeburningcharacteristicsofsolidplasticsinaverticalposition,seeTestMethodD3801.1.2Thistestmethodwasdevelopedforpolymericmaterialsusedforpartsindevicesandappliances.Theresultsareintendedtoserveasapreliminaryindicationoftheiracceptabilitywithrespecttoflammabilityforaparticularapplication.Thefinalacceptanceofthematerialisdependentuponitsuseincompleteequipmentthatconformswiththestandardsapplicabletosuchequipment.1.3TheclassificationsystemdescribedinAppendixX1isintendedforqualityassuranceandthepreselectionofcomponentmaterialsforproducts.1.4Iffoundtobeappropriate,itissuitabletoapplytherequirementstoothernonmetallicmaterials.Suchapplicationisoutsidethescopeofthistechnicalcommittee.1.5Thistestmethodisnotintendedtocoverplasticswhenusedasmaterialsforbuildingconstructionorfinishing.1.6Firetestingisinherentlyhazardous.Adequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.1.7Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardsorfireriskassessmentofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.See6.1.1foraspecifichazardstatement.
