【摘要】:Iftheinkorcoatingistofulfillitsfunction,itmustadheretothesubstrate.Substratesandtheirsurfacepreparationhaveasignificanteffectontheadhesionofinksorcoatings.Therefore,amethodofevaluatingadhesionofinksorcoatingstodifferentsubstratesorsurfacetreatments,orofdifferentinksorcoatingstothesamesubstrateandsurfacetreatment,isusefultotheindustry.Thelimitationsofalladhesionmethodsandthespecificlimitationofthistestmethodtolowerlevelsofadhesionshouldberecognizedbeforeusingit.Theintrax2013;andinterx2013;laboratoryprecisionofthistestmethodisunderevaluation.Printingareatobetestedshouldbeasolidarealargeenoughtoincludetheentirecrosshatchpattern.1.1ThistestmethodisbasedonexistingTestMethodD3359,withmodificationstomakeitsuitableforplasticsubstratesandmembraneswitches.1.2Despitetheproblemsassociatedwithatapetestonplasticsubstrates,itisourbeliefthatthisisstilloneofthebestwaystotestinkandcoatingforadhesionformembraneswitchapplications.Inwritingthistestmethodweareaddressingseveraloftheobjectionstothetestmethodthatcouldaffectitsprecisionandrepeatabilityonplasticsubstrates.1.3Thesetestmethodscoverwhethertheadhesionofcoatingorinktoasubstrateisatanacceptablelevel.Theydonotdistinguishbetweenhigherlevelsofadhesion,forwhichmoresophisticatedmethodsofmeasurementmayberequired.Note18212;Itshouldberecognizedthatdifferencesinadherabilityoftheinkorcoatingsurfacecanaffecttheresultsobtainedwithinksorcoatingshavingthesameinherentadhesion.1.4Inmulti-coatsystemsadhesionfailuremayoccurbetweencoats,sothattheadhesionofthecoatingsystemtothesubstrateisnotdetermined.1.5Thistestmethodisspecificallydesignedformeasuringadhesionofinksandcoatings(films)thathaveathicknessof5mil(125microns)orless,onplasticssuchaspolyesterandpolycarbonate.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
