【摘要】:ThispartofIEC60793outlinesamethodformeasuringthesteadystateresponseofopticalfibresandopticalcablesexposedtogammaradiation.Itcanbeemployedtodeterminethelevelofradiation-inducedattenuationproducedinsingle-modeormultimodeopticalfibres,ineithercabledoruncabledform,duetoexposuretogammaradiation.Theattenuationofcabledanduncabledopticalfibresgenerallyincreaseswhenexposedtogammaradiation.Thisisprimarilyduetothetrappingofradiolyticelectronsandholesatdefectsitesintheglass(i.e.theformationof"colourcenters").Thistestprocedurefocusesontworegimesofinterest:thelowdoserateregimesuitableforestimatingtheeffectofenvironmentalbackgroundradiation,andthehighdoserateregimesuitableforestimatingtheeffectofadversenuclearenvironments.ThetestingoftheeffectsofenvironmentalbackgroundradiationisachievedwithanattenuationmeasurementapproachsimilartomethodIEC60793-1-40A,cut-back.Theeffectsofadversenuclearenvironmentsaretestedbymonitoringthepowerbefore,duringandafterexposureofthetestsampletogammaradiation.Thedepopulationofcolorcentersbylight(photobleaching)orbyheatcausesrecovery(lesseningofradiationinducedattenuation).Recoverymayoccuroverawiderangeoftimewhichdependsontheirradiationtime.Thiscomplicatesthecharacterizationofradiationinducedattenuationsincetheattenuationdependsonmanyvariablesincludingthetemperatureofthetestenvironment,theconfigurationofthesample,thetotaldoseandthedoserateappliedtothesampleandthelightlevelusedtomeasureit.Thistestisnotamaterialtestforthenon-opticalmaterialcomponentsofafibreopticcable.Ifdegradationofcablematerialsexposedtoirradiationistobestudied,othertestmethodswillberequired.NOTEBackgroundinformationonthissubjectisgiveninIEC/TR62283.Attentionisdrawntothefactthatstrictregulationsandsuitableprotectivefacilitiesareadoptedinthelaboratoryforthistest.Carefullyselectedtrainedpersonnelareusedtoperformthistest.Itcanbeextremelyhazardoustotestpersonnelifitisimproperlyperformedorwithoutqualifiedconditions.notel:1IEC62283,Nuclearradiation-Fibreopticguidance.
