【摘要】:Thispracticecanbeusedinsamplingdrums,tanks,andsimilarcontainersandinsamplingmonitoringandwastewellsincludingsmalldiameter(1in.)wells.Thepumpcancollectsamplesfrommultipledepths.Thesamplescanbehigh-viscosityfluids,aggressiveandcorrosivefluids,high-puritysolutionsandabrasivefluids.Thepumpcanbeusedtomixsamples(seeD6063).Peristalticpumpsuseavacuumtotransportthesamples.Thisvacuummaycausesomedegassingandlossofvolatileorganiccompounds(VOCs)fromthesample.WhenprecisequantitativedataforVOCsanddissolvedgasesarenotrequired,peristalticpumpsmaybeused.Thepumpisself-priming,runsdrywithoutdamage,andiscompletelyisolatedfromthepumpedfluid.Asamplecanbetakenontheintakeordischargesideofthepump.Someadditionaladvantagesoftheperistalticpumpare:decontaminationofthepumpmotorisnotnecessaryandthetubinginthepumpisdisposableandeasytoreplace.Thepumpscanbeeasilystartedandstoppedandcanpumpfluidsatawiderangeofpressuresandflowrates.Theplace,qualityandquantity,frequency,andtimeofsamplingisdependentuponthedecisionsthataretobemade(seeD6250),samplingdesign(seeD6311),thesample,theheterogeneityofthesamples(seeD5956),howrepresentativethesampleis(seeD6044),andtheparameterstobetestedasdeterminedbythedataqualityobjectives(DQOs)(seeD5792).1.1Thispracticecoverstheuseofaperistalticpumpforsamplingliquidsfrommultipledepths.Itisapplicableforawiderangeoffluidsincluding:high-viscosityfluids,aggressiveandcorrosivefluids,high-puritysolutionsandabrasivefluids.Itisespeciallyusefulforsamplingliquidsthatrequirecompleteisolationfromthepump.1.2Thispracticeincludesthedeterminationofsampledepth,pumpsetupandcollectingasampletobeanalyzed.1.3Thispracticeisnotintendedtogivedetailedinstructionsforrunningaperistalticpumporrecommendwhichperistalticpumptopurchase.Itinstructsthefieldpersonnelhowtoconnectthepumpandcollectasample.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
